Evolution uses Bonobo to create editors, so in theory (and this is the
stock reply :-) the Zvt widget can be wrapped by Bonobo so that any
command-line program can be used.

A few weeks ago a Ximian developer (can't recall who) claimed to be
working on a plain-text editor, so we could just wait to see what pops
up...
