Same here. I did notice that it spews out 1000s of messages like, eg.

utf8_to_gtk: Evolution => Evolution
utf8_to_gtk: Evolution => Evolution
utf8_to_gtk: Evolution => Evolution
utf8_to_gtk: Evolution => Evolution
Saving shortcuts -- /home/fpereira/evolution/shortcuts.xml

to ~/.gnomerc-errors. That can't be helping...
