RE: [Evolution] Bonobo woe

I'm having a similar problem.

After I installed Evolution (Debain apt-get) I received an error message
about my bonobo version whenever I tried to execute Evolution. Naturally, I
did an apt-get install Bonobo which upgraded bonobo from XXX to XXX (I cant
remember). Now evolution will run; however, I can not install other
packages like GAIM because apt-get will not let me install any package that
uses a version of bonobo other than the one I currently have. I wish I
could be more descriptive about the problem; however I am also new to Linux.
Any help would be appreciated.

Subject: [Evolution] Bonobo woe

Hello,

I'm trying to install Evolution 0.8, but during the configure process,
a flag comes up telling me I need Bonobo .29 or higher. Checking my
package manager, I realise I have v.18, so I download a newer version
(v.33). However, when installing it, I'm told that there are dependency
problems (libbonobo, libbonobo-print, libbonobox, and libefs). I can't
uninstall v.18, because I'm told that it would have to uninstall most of
GNOME in the process.
Being new to linux, I just can't figure out what I should do at this
point...or what particularly is the problem with upgrading Bonobo. I've
gone so far, installing all the necessary libraries...I don't want to
stop (!).

Anyone have an idea? Thanks in advance :)
