It turned out, that with some fonts, EFont returned length of string only to first and no more. It looks like it happens also with other's wider-than-byte characters. I'm not why this is happening, maybe bad byte order? Or gtk/X error? Unfortunately I am busy with cut&paste, could you someone else look at it?
