I'm also looking for a solution to solve the problem of viewing TIF
files with are send to me as an attachement.
I can see every attachement except TIF files.
The do show some sort of buttonborder, but no real button.
Only when I forward the message (inline) I can see the TIF code appear
in the message...

This was fixed in CVS along time ago, maybe 3-4days after .8 was
released.

I'm using a CVS version from Feb 4. It would be later than that.

OK, That worked. Not a good solution. The default theme is pretty bad.

You can find this in the GNOME Control Center under Desktop

the version of bonobo that shipped with evolution .8 had a pixmap bug.
So when trying to draw the icon for the attachment, it would crash
taking down the mailer also. You can use any non-pixmap gtk theme and it
will work. I just tell people to use the Default them because its hard
to tell what ones are and are not pixmap. tho 90% use the pixmap engine
for rendering. This was fixed a few days later, so snapshots are not
affected
