Ok.  "killev" does what I need.

Now to the next question:  since the .vcf import fails so miserably on my
Psion contacts list, is there anything I can do to help it work better?

I've never even glanced at Evo code, but I could supply sample .vcf data
(which is heavily Psion-ized) if that would help the contacts import
people build a better product...
