[Evolution] installing gnome packages

when i tried to install the necessary  packages like libxml, gnomeprint etc... i had to find the prefix and 
sysconfdir with the commands "gnome-config -- prefix" and "gnome-config --sysconfigdir".
both leads to open the gnome desktop when i'm on kde or to open a second gnome desktop when i'm in gnome and 
ends with an error message because x-server is already in use. but at the end there appear gnome 
and kde on the same desktop. but i can't get the output of this command.
i would be pleased to receive any help..
