[Evolution] Build problems

I cannot seem to get all of Evolution's myriad of dependencies built. I
get a problem when building bonobo-0.30 from source. Here is the error I
get:
checking ORBit version... 0.5.4
configure: error: ORBit 0.5.5 or later required
I have compiled and installed ORBit 0.5.5 from the source at Ximian's
download page TWICE. What gives?
