remember doing this though, you might want to turn it off.  with beta 2,
it would cause a large number of hangs, often within the first few
minutes.  i had to turn it off for the time being, but am going to try
it when i can be sure i'm using beta 3, then submit a bug report if
necessary.

speaking of which, i decided to try the snapshot once again, and got
2001.08.21.23.41 installed.  it appears that this was the last snapshot,
according to redcarpet at least.  is this correct?   it claims itself as
beta 3 on the splash, but the main window only shows 0.12.99, with the
+cvs in there also.  redcarpet is showing nothing at all since that,
kinda wierd.
