[Evolution] pilot support, betas, and 1.0

So, feel free to shoot me down here, but this thought has been
developing over the last few days and I figured I'd share.

Some time ago I asked on this forum if there were plans to release a
beta with pilot support enabled by default. I don't recall seeing an
answer, though I may have just missed it.

It seems to me that one of the following two statements should be true:

1. The final beta is released with pilot support enabled
2. 1.0 is released >without< pilot support enabled

Given the number of bugs found by those of us on this list (and others
using the Evo betas) it seems less than prudent to release a feature
like pilot support on an unsuspecting world without it going through at
least one beta cycle.

Comments?

Also - someone/anyone who has been building their own Evo with pilot
support - can you take a look at bug # 2198
(http://bugzilla.ximian.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2198) and comment on the
question it contains? Thanks.
