[Evolution] Will not receive mail from IMAP server, or save preferences in mail account

Hi,

I just installed Mandrake 8.0, which comes with Gnome 1.4 and Evolution
0.9.  I set up my mail account as I have for many other mail clients
(Balsa, Kmail, etc), but Evolution just will not retrieve my mail where
Balsa and others will do so perfectly fine.  I've also noticed that if I
change my mail account options, it does not save them (i.e. automatically
check for mail ever xx minutes).  Do I need to upgrade to a newer version? 
Or am I doing something wrong?  My mail is on an IMAP server as well..
don't know if this makes a difference.
