It doesn't matter if it was debated to death, the "correct" thing to do
was give us a choice.
Please go read that link. (Thank you for digging it up, Richard, I was
pretty sure it was in there somewhere.)
I read it; technically, it's more of a default feature request than bug,
since "bug" means "not working correctly as programmed" as opposed to "not
the way the users would prefer it to work".
