  Uhm, got it.  You did not use `--sysconfdir=/etc' when configuring,
so the `.gnorba' files went into

      /usr/etc/CORBA/servers

instead of

      /etc/CORBA/servers

and consequently GNORBA does not find the `.gnorba' files necessary to
start the components.

  Indeed it is  not.  OAF stores its object  activation information at
`$(datadir)/oaf' instead.
