[Evolution] APOP vs POP

Hi,

So, I still have a pop3 server that can do APOP, but I am using another
mechanism to check passwords which does not do APOP.

The evolution setup says that if APOP fails it will fall over to POP.  I am
still getting auth failures though.  From the logs of the password checking
mechanism I can see that it is only trying APOP.  Is this solely because my
server indicates that it is capable of doing APOP?
