[Evolution] remote X (and autogen.sh fix)

I was at work and I wanted to show my friend this cool new email client
called Evolution, so I ssh'ed my way thru my DSL firewall and into my
workstation at home. I set my display to my work linux workstation and
fired up evolution.

Well, it doesn't work quite right. I get the main window plus the "Don't
blame us" dialog box, but the "button bar" is missing and there is nothing
where the list of messages would be. The box for the message was there
but blank. When I click on the Inbox, the xterm printed the following
message:
Already have view for evolution:/local/Inbox

Now, my home computer is Redhat 6.1 + Helix GNOME plus Evolution 0.1
depends (compiled with fresh OAF inside) plus CVS Evolution. My work
computer is straight Redhat 6.1 + Helix GNOME. Oh, and both are XF86 4.0,
if that matters.

Whoops.. is this a bug report or just a message to [Evolution]?

In other news:

I got some help on #evolution and #gnome today that I thought about
sharing on the mailing list.

evolution wouldn't compile from CVS? I was getting errors about
./configure errors dealing with AM_something (config.h) or how some
variables were not declared. iain and ffej helped me with the following
(redhat only?) fix:

export ACLOCAL_FLAGS='-I /usr/local/share/aclocal'

or

cp /usr/local/share/aclocal /usr/share/aclocal

This helps with all of GNOME CVS, so I thought it might be something worth
having on a web site.

Lastly (and most importantly, I'm sure) I am so very glad that this
program is being crafted with such care and I kiss you all for helping. I
am not the best coder in the world, but I would like to help in any way
possible.

Share the day,
Seer Snively
