Re: [Evolution] a few quick Qs

No, no sorting is expected freom the contents of th emailboxl.

The main criterea used for threading is the messages 'in-rely-to' and
'referendes' headers. After thats all done, the sorting is based on the
sent-date. So yesl, this could be a bit out, since the sent date
depends on the sender having the correct offset from gmt int he
email.

The last criteria used is the subject. So i find it very unliklely
that you are getting genuinly wrong threaded messages (its using the
same algorithm as used in netscape 3).

1) will it be possible to have the threaded view non-expanded by
default.

I agree. Also, removing the grey lines between each message might make
the shape of the thread clearer (like in Netscape Mail).

On threads, I noticed a couple of minor bugs. Sometimes the messages in
a thread are shown out of order. For example, the reply might come
first, and the original message second. Other times, it shows messages
in the same thread when they should be in different threads. Maybe the
first problem is happening because the code assumes that the mbox is
already sorted by date, or that a reply always has a later date than the
email it is replying to. But that's just a guess.
