It doesn't seem to be acting that way -- I had a filter set for
person aol com and received an email from Person aol com  The email was
left in my inbox instead of filtered, but when I changed the filter to
look for Person aol com and applied the filter to the email, it was
correctly filed.

Please let me know if I'm missing something,
