This is almost certainly a problem with e-font making a bad match for
the proportional font in gtkhtml. There have been reports of similar
things happening in e-table. Please try choosing a different for in the
HTML Viewer configuration capplet in the gnome control center, if it
doesn't work the first time try a couple other completely different
fonts. Also, do you have a lot of true type fonts installed or even a
bunch of type1 fonts for that matter?
I have a lot of TrueType fonts (and the default Type1 fonts that come
with XFree86 4.0.1) and I have some serious font problems apparently. It
seems to be a problem with proportional vs. fixed font stuff.
As a temporary work-around I chose Courier 12 as my proportional font
(even though it is a fixed width font!) This only fixes some of the
problems (when I compose a mail). It does not fix the rest.
Some symptoms of my font problem is that highlighting does not "match"
the actual text length. When I type something the cursor moves further
than the character that I just typed. In some HTML mails (and mails with
links in them), the text sometimes overlaps other text. Also, the line
underneath a link does not extend all the way over the text.
I'm not exactly sure why this font problem is happening - Any clues?
(iain had similiar problems a long time ago, but he says he switched X
servers and it went away)

I've discovered that Evo 0.8 is not displaying any HTML email, unless I turn on "VIEW | SOURCE"
to see the headers.
.
As an example, any email that has a header similar to this in it:
------=_NextPart_000_000C_01C06109.9A83C220
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit
will NOT display until I turn on "VIEW | SOURCE". At which point, I can see the content of the email,
but not as HTML. It appears as plain text.
Also, as I mentioned previously, any style other than PRE is invisible, so that I can't see any text that
I'm trying to type into an email (either new or reply). (HTML email is not on by default).
