[Evolution-hackers] Evolution and sending out invites

Hey all.  I was noticing that if I create a new meeting in Evolution in the local calendar, Evolution will ask me if I want to send out invites to the participants of that meeting.  However, if I create a new meeting in one of my calendars (different backend), I don't get prompted.  I looked at the code in Evolution, and it seems like maybe I'm not configuring my backend instance correctly.  Anybody have an idea why I don't get prompted?
