[Evolution-hackers] Exporting appointments from evolution

I would like to move from jpilot to evolution for my calendar/PIM needs.  I 
modified the source of jpilot to get it to write a plain ascii text file of 
the current day's appointments.  I was planning to write a python script to 
parse the calendar.ics file that evolution writes and write the same text 
file of the current day's appointments.  But when I looked at the docs on the 
rrule line for recurring appointments, I reconsidered my plans.  Parsing that 
line is pretty complex.

Can someone give me some advice on the best way to export the current day's 
appointments to an ascii text file?
