Would we be talking for a version < 1.3 here?

I would imagine that a bug relating the GNOME 1.x version of bonobo
would be very different to the GNOME 2.x version.

Admittedly, that's without knowing the inner workings of bonobo :)

In any case, I've been looking through bugzilla, and I can't find it, it
might be easier just to open a new one ;)
