[evince] Problem with presentation remote and entering presentation mode

Hello everyone,

my presentation remote doesn't work as expected with evince. It can't
start the presentation mode.
It has a button for entering and leaving the presentation mode of a
viewer. I have to go to the laptop and press F5, if I accidentally hit
the button during a presentation.
The combined button sends F5 and ESC key signals in turns.
Here is a dump from the xev command:

I'm not sure, if it is a problem with evince, the ŕemote or with a
different part of the system.

Has anyone on the list experience with presentation remotes? Any ideas
are appreciated.
