[evince] Can't LD_PRELOAD with evince

I would like to overload malloc/free calls made by evince with
LD_PRELOAD library. It works well with other eglibc executables, but not
evince. I tried other GTK program (gnome-calculator for instance) and it
works. I quickly search sources and mailing list, and there is nothing
on that topic. Is there something special in evince that disable
LD_PRELOAD?
