We are happy to announce Evince 2.25.90 the first beta version in the 2.25/2.26 release cycle. Since 2.25.5 evince has been split into different libraries: * libdocument: it already existed indeed, but it has now libtool versioning, a pkg-config file and a single header. This is the library for creating evince backends * libview: it mainly contains the evince view widget and its dependencies. It's already used by 'sugar' to embed the evince view into their reader. There are already python bindings in gnome-python-desktop module. Note that these libraries are not stable and the API is likely to change. Thanks to the amazing work done by Tomeu Vizoso and Christian Persch the libraries are ready to be used out of evince. * What is it ? ============== Evince is a document viewer. It primarily displays pdf, though djvu, tiff, dvi, impress slides, postscript and even comics archives are also supported.
