Printing?

I have just installed evince as a replacement for Adobe Reader. Everything appears straightforward except for Printing and Help. Printing appears in the File menu but it is grayed out. When I clicked on Help, I got an error message from the program. Please clarify, and thank you for what otherwise appears to be an excellent product.
