Yeah, that all makes sense, and explains why there didn't seem to be any
problems with the type3 rendering code. I have Debian 2.1.7-2.3 so it
looks it is probably a freetype problem then, and I guess when linking
with t1lib, it takes over rendering the type1 glyphs.
