tab width when more tabs are open

Hi,
When I open more then 5-6 tabs in a window, the tab gets scrolled. So, I
have to press <  button to go to a previously opened tab from a later
one.
Is there any user option that the tab-width will get shrinked to give
space to more tabs rather then scrolling?
