1.13.x is the minimum version, not the required version. I'm almost sure
your distribution provides an atk version that is more recent than that,
as 1.26.0 is the current stable version of ATK.
Personally, I wouldn't bother staying with a stable distribution while
compiling half of the GNOME platform from source just to run the
software you like. When I was young I went down this road by backporting
half of GNOME from debian sid to my woody install, just to find out that
it wasn't more stable than just installing debian sid.
