Yes. The rationale is that websites shouldn't be allowed to gain control
over what the user can do (for instance, copying an image to the
clipboard).

If a webapp requires the context menu to be usable, then it really is
broken. However, it's undeniable that the number of webapps that use the
context menu is on the rise, so something should be done to find a
middle road. Recently this was discussed on IRC and most agreed that a
whitelist-based system for javascript context menu functionality such as
the one already in use for popup blocking would be an acceptable way to
solve the problem.
