They'd probably be more likely to care if your (entirely correct) criticisms had been made more gently.

Anyway (to reiterate what I wrote in #epiphany earlier today) ...

People who visit the Epiphany Web site are already using a Web browser. Therefore, it is not enough for the site to say meekly: "Epiphany is the web browser for the GNOME desktop. It aims to be simple and easy to use." Instead, the site needs to give people reasons why they should *switch* from their current browser (Firefox, Galeon, or whatever).

So, do some performance tests, for startup and for page load. If Epiphany is faster than Firefox (it is, right?), show that in a couple of pretty and uncluttered graphs. If Epiphany is faster than Galeon, show that too. Include Netscape 7 and Mozilla 1.8 in the graphs too, for good measure. Put those graphs on the home page.

Make obvious, decent-sized (but cropped) screenshots of the killer features that should make people want to switch from Firefox. (There aren't any? Then implement some.) Put those on the home page too.

Start the page with a big, centered heading. "Epiphany. Faster than Firefox. Built for Gnome." Or something like that.
