Promoting pippin's Patreon campaign

Hey,

A month or two ago there was a thread on foundation-list [1] about
promoting pippin's Patreon campaign [2] where I was encouraged to compose a
blurb that could potentially be published on https://www.gnome.org/news
So finally here's one:
