Hi everyone,
I tried to doodle some, because I didn't really have any strong ideas around the topic [1] and I found the silhouette of a stylized 20 to form a nice heart. It's an element we used for friends of GNOME and a couple of times in the past in other contexts too.
Here's how it might look in flat color rendering[2].
Personally I would even go as far as not putting GNOME foot on the thing, just relying on the type, color scheme and the stencil nature of the heart to carry the brand.
cheers
After talking to Allan on #engagement, it looks like tomorrow,
Friday, June 30th at 16:30 UTC will be better. So, no call today.
Again, here's the info for those interested in joining:
Also adding Jakub in case he has any initial feedback on the logo designs. Here's a link to the existing prototypes on Owncloud.
Thanks!
Best,
Nuritzi
p.s.
Sorry I didn't respond about the Owncloud topic earlier on this thread but I didn't want to derail the conversation away from the logo feedback. I still think that Owncloud is not a good tool for newcomers, or collaborating with newcomers, and I would like to explore other productivity software alternatives.
If anyone else is interested in the libre productivity software topic, please let me know and you can join Alexandre and me during GUADEC to discuss. In the meantime for expediency's sake, I don't promise to only use Owncloud for the collaborative work that needs to be done before GUADEC, but I will promise to get a freely hosted alternative up later if someone requests it and/or when possible. Also, as mentioned before, I'll make sure the final assets are on Owncloud.
