First of all, an apology - I usually send out this mail much further in advance. This process should have started some weeks ago! With that said...
GNOME
3.26 is scheduled for release on September 13th - that's exactly two weeks
from now. This means we need volunteers to help with release marketing!
The main tasks we need to cover are:
- Writing the release notes
- Writing a news post for gnome.org
- Collecting screenshots (to use in the release notes and a separate screenshot pack)
- Social media - ideally needs a schedule for the run up to the day, people to post to Twitter, G+ and Facebook
- Release video (thankfully I think that Bastien is already working on this)
- Release parties
Does anyone have other ideas for things we should do?
I'm starting work on the release notes and can try and write the news post, but would appreciate help, especially with screenshots. If you can help with any of the other tasks, please let us know, or tune into
#engagement.
