Re: 01.org GNOME entry content

If I'm not too late, I just came back from an interview, the only line I would change is:

---

Used by millions of people around the world, it is a pioneering and highly influential project.  It has been the default desktop environment for several of the leading enterprise Linux desktop distributions and the most popular fully FOSS desktop in use by the GNU/Linux community. GNOME’s software has been utilized in successful, large-scale enterprise and public deployments.

---

and the following paragraph...

---

Who It’s For

Gnome is used directly by professionals on engineering workstations, cutting edge developer devices and mission critical desktops. It's open source code is utilized by operating system vendors, system integrators, original device and equipment manufactures and others who are building custom Linux desktop and distributions. Application developers also use GNOME for development and test activities.

---

Hope this reaches you in time...

Great thanks for doing this, have added some comments below.

I think it should be desktop most popular "desktop environment".

Maybe "Linux *based* operating"?

"Gnome is used by consumers"? (I'm not sure "directly" is
necessary).

I think its good to mention GKT+ and also mention that
its possible to write apps in _javascript_.

Many parts of GNOME are distributed under GPL2 only (especially apps)
