3.12 Release Promotion

Hi all,

3.12 is due for release on 26 March. That gives us about a month to
prepare our promotional materials.

Key items, as usual:

 * Press release, including quotations.
 * Release notes.
 * Updates to the website.
 * Reach out to the press - send them advance notice about the
release, make a press pack available.
 * Posts to the social networks, blogging, etc.

Does anyone have any other ideas for things we can do to promote the release?

I'm happy to work on the release notes and will get that started soon.
The other main items we need volunteers for are the press release and
press relations.

The key thing to start early is the process of obtaining quotations
for the press release, since that can take a while.

So who's volunteering? :)
