Re: [Ekiga-list] Solved: Re: Ekiga crashed every time by dialling

How do I install ver 4.x in Xubuntu????

It appears that synaptic and the software center don't support anything above 3.x.

At ekiga.net, I hoped to find the latest version, but nothing above 3.x is listed there.

Even if I'm able to download the source, there is no info on compiling it and I'd definitely need a little help compiling it.

Are there any other options, or should I just wait and hope to see ver 4 in the software center at some point in the future??

TY.

Same exact problem here. Running Xubuntu 64 bit ver 12.10.

When I try to run ekiga, I get a system crash-even before I try to do anything.

Can't find ver 4.x in the software center, it still has ver 3.x.

I've uninstalled ver 3.x using apt-get purge. Will try reinstalling.

Great mailing list, ty to all who maintain it!

Hi,

I got trouble with the ekiga on Debian wheezy and also Ubuntu 12.04.

I use ekiga (3.2.7) only as client for VoIP at a Fritz!Box 7360 SL.

In principal, it works, incoming calls are possible.

But: every time, if I dial an (internal or external) number, ekiga
dials, but crashed exactly at the moment the dialed nummer pick up the
phone.
I tried port forwarding and other hints, I googled, but nothing works.

What can I do?
sip:

Upgrade ekiga to at least 3.9.90 please, because 3.2.7 is too old to
maintain. It is available in debian experimental for ex.

It needs some time ;-) but now I did it: I made an upgrade to ekiga
4.0.0.1 (on debian sid now) and: it works without any problem! No change
in configuration or anything else was necessary.

Good!  Thank you for informing us.
