Well, disabling net detection hides that message but also makes 
registration with some registrars (ekiga.net included) fail.

Yes, it could be.

The only thing is to look in the -d 4 output (or send it to us), which 
allows to see what kind of network you are connected to and what packets 
(if any) arrive to your computer.
