Besides ekiga, there are at least 4 other clients which are able to connect to an ekiga.net account:
twinkle, linphone, asterisk and telephone
so maybe the problem is not in the configuration of the ekiga.net server but somewhere else.
Could you be more specific about the problems encountered by Empathy when trying to connect to ekiga.net?
