[Ekiga-list] sip phone, Panasonic Model KX-TGA641C

Folk, my mother bought a Panasonic Model KX-TGA641C 
cordless phone. The front bezel is marked "SIP PHONE" 
but there is no mention of sip in the instruction booklet.

How can the sip capability be exploited?  
Is Ekiga involved?
