[Ekiga-list] NAT, ekiga and sipphone

Tesing ekiga client behind the simplest Linux SNAT firewall:

-A POSTROUTING -s 192.168.2.0/255.255.255.0 -j SNAT --to my.public.ip.address

Case 1: don't enable "Disable network detection"
Results:
ekiga.net server connection works.
sipphone.com server connection works.

Case 2: enable "Disable network detection"
Results:
ekiga.net server registration fails with "Could not register (Globally
not acceptable)"
sipphone.com server connection works.

Could someone explain why ekiga.net server is more picky then
sipphone.com? Are there any plans to allow connections without STUN
server help?
