True. I vaguely remember doing something with gconf when I first set up
ekiga 2.0.*, but I cannot remember the details.

On closer inspection, the URL component of contact details has not been
migrated from ekiga 2.0*, and ekiga 2.9.90
is not recognising my webcam. The latter happened after my first
snapshot attempt and I have not yet worked out
what happened. I'll try later ..
