Hi, this is an auto-answer ;-)

upgrading to Ekiga 2.02 fixed the problem. Now I can register and call out with vbuzzer with no problems.

For the records, this is the config:
  Registrar: vbuzzer.com:80
  Realm: vbuzzer.com
  User: your_user_id vbuzzer com
  Authentication Login: your_user_id

Note: you don't need to setup the outbound proxy in Preferences > Protocols > SIP Settings. It is not necessary.
If you do, you won't be able to register multiple accounts simultaneously (at least, I couldn't).
Really it looks like ekiga is using, as outbound proxy for each account, whatever you setup as 'registrar' for the account. Which is fine.
