Hi all,
when compiling Ekiga/OPALs video codecs it should be noticed that there is a configure option of OPAL that enables full video capabilities when receiving empty fmtp lines. Without that option, OPAL's video codec plugins will default to the minimal capabilities defined in the respective RFCs. Asterisk unfortunately does not support fmtp lines, thus it always delivers an empty fmtp line. This means that video support with asterisk (even the loopback) will be disabled or very limited (mostly only QCIF) when compiling OPAL without that configure option. In order to enable the full capabilities for empty fmtp lines, it is necessary to compile opal with
./configure --enable-default-to-full-capabilties
This will enable full video capabilities when calling an asterisk server. I propose to use that by default for the packages. It would also be nice if people could update the wiki pages to point this out.
So the conclusion is: should this option be used in deb packages or not?
