hi guys, its running fine here. cant reproduce.

1.
maybe you need to downgrade some libg*'s for an intermediate 
solution until sid libs get more stable.
see my setup below.

2.
pls run gdb ekiga and identify the hanging lib/api calls in 
threads and reportbug libg* packages too, if unsure.
let gdb catch the crash and enter "thread apply bt all".
if no signal occurs and it hangs break in with ctrl-c.

3.
maintainers pls get more in touch with the ekiga devs, we've a 
broken QA circle here leading to too loosen dependencies of 
distro packages. pls forward "distro bugs" upstream too from 
now on. we need to identify lib inconsistencies too.

in agreement with the ekiga maintainer D.Sandras on 
#ekiga IRC.
