[Easytag-mailing] limit length of file names AND avoid special characters

Is it possible to tell Easytag to limit parts of the file name to a certain length?
e.g. max_length for track_title = 5, max_length for artist = 5
This could help to avoid endless filenames, that cause problems on certain file system.

Another problem with file names are for example german and french characters, Umlauts like ä,ö,ü.
Is there a way to convert these to a,o,u or to just leave them out?
