Hi John,
Indeed, your version of Id3lib contains the UTF-16 bug...
You must recompile it with this patch :
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/easytag/patch_id3lib_3.8.3_UTF16_writing_bug.diff
available from the page :
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=5216
Regards,
Jerome

Hello Jerome
It's the first time that i participate to a mailing list, so i don't
know it replying to the e-mails is acceptable, so please excuse me any
fault to the rules. I'm more familiar to forums.
I downloaded and compiled the version 2 of easytag. I setup it with
the proper options and i started to change some tags. When i pressed
"save" a message box appeared with the below message:
"You have tried to save this tag to Unicode but it was detected that
your version of id3lib is bugged.
If you reload this file, some characters in the tag may be not
displayedcorrectly...
Please, apply to id3lib the patch
src/id3lib/patch_3.8.3_UTF16_writing_bag.diff available in EasyTag
package sources.
Note that this mesage will appear only one time.
File: /path_to/my_mp3"
I have attached the message box.
i search but i cannot find the patch in the EasyTag package sources.
Also, trying to find an answer i searched it in Google, but there were
no other message with some line of the above message.
Is there a solution ot fix this?

Hi John,
If the last version of EasyTAG doesn't manage the character encoding
automatically for your MP3, you can change the settings manually
in the
"Tag setting" tab in the preferences windows.
Check if you are using the version 2.0.
By default, ogg and flac tags use the uft-8 encoding. Even if they
were
written with the wrong encoding, EasyTAG should convert them and save
then to the right encoding...
Regards,
Jerome
