Note that the version 2.1.1 (and later) uses by default libid3tag to read/write ID3v2.4 tags. But id3lib can be used if you want to write an ID3v2.3 tag.

id3lib isn't maintained anymore, you have to patch it to have
unicode16 support. It is said that taglib is faster too.

I realized that Easytag is the only software still using id3lib in my
system, so that's why I brought it up :)
