[Easytag-mailing] easytag 1.99.8 crash

Im using easytag 1.99.8 on debian unstable, and it was working great
'till recently, now it freezes on startup:

keir@keircomp:~$ easytag
Starting EasyTAG 1.99.8 (PId: 6819) ...
Currently using id3lib version 3.8.3 ...
Loading default 'Fill Tag' masks...
Loading default 'Rename File' masks...

and then freezes

Any ideas what could be wrong
