Distributors,
gsettings-desktop-schemas in 3.31.91 contains a change to the monospace-font-name key. The default value is now "Source Sans Pro 11", and no longer "Monospace 11".
To spare your users the terminal experience I just had, you should make sure to either install that font, or override the default to a monospace font that is available on your system, or add a fontconfig snipplet to make Source Sans Pro a weak alias for Monospace.
