Fails to print - no errors, nothing

I have just tried printing a diagram I have created, quite a simple
diagram.

Nothing happens at all, I click on 'Print' and - nothing.  No error
message no activity from the printer, just total nothingness.  I have
two printers, tried both, just the same  with both, nothing.

Other programs print without any problems.

This is dia version 0.97.1 on xubuntu 14.04.
